Sinopsis
En el París de comienzos del siglo XX, el doctor Orloff, en otro tiempo reputado médico de un presidio, pretende reconstruir el accidentado rostro de su querida hija, Melissa, sirviéndole como materia prima la piel de mujeres jóvenes a las que primero asesina con la complicidad de un sirviente, Morpho. Para resolver la serie de asesinatos se designa al avezado inspector Tanner, cuya prometida, Wanda, guarda, sin que nadie pueda sospecharlo, un increíble parecido con Melissa, la hija del demente doctor.
